Trellis night carafe, with glass

A bedside carafe with matching glass, in mouth-blown glass decorated with overlapping stripes and dots in several colours. The set is handmade in Egypt: artisans in the old centre of Cairo blow it for Malaika.

They work with a traditional technique that is said to date back to ancient Egypt. Because each piece is blown by mouth, colour and size always vary slightly, and small air bubbles are part of its character. The set is 21 cm high.

Put it on your bedside table so there is always water within reach, or pour something cool from it on a summer afternoon. It suits a guest room well and makes a thoughtful gift when you go to stay with someone. Wash it by hand.

Material: Mouth-blown glass

Care: Wash by hand in lukewarm water with a little washing-up liquid and dry with a soft cloth. Do not pour in boiling water. Small air bubbles are part of mouth-blown glass.
