Minos dinner plate

A richly coloured earthenware dinner plate with organic motifs and a symmetrical pattern, made by hand in Egypt. It is made for Malaika by potters in Fayoum.

The plate is made of fire clay from Aswan, in Upper Egypt, with a lead-free glaze and colours from earth oxides. The style is slightly rustic and recalls old designs. Every plate is unique and may differ a little in colour and size; that is part of handwork.

Choose from cacao or yellow, or mix the two colours on the table. The plate measures about 25 to 27 centimetres across, a good size for the main course. Wash it by hand.

Care: Wash by hand and do not leave it in water for long. Do not put it in the dishwasher or microwave unless the description says you may. Hand-painted pottery differs slightly in colour and line from piece to piece.
