Palm Tree espresso mug

A small earthenware mug, painted by hand with palm trees in warm, earthy shades and soft touches of turquoise, and made by hand in Egypt. It comes from Fayoum and is made for Malaika.

The mug is made of fire clay from Aswan, with a lead-free glaze and colours from earth oxides. It is about 8 centimetres tall and 7 centimetres wide, with a handle. The palms run around the mug, and because they are painted by hand, every mug has its own character.

Use it for your morning espresso or a small cup of tea in the afternoon. Malaika recommends a coaster, as a little moisture can form under the mug over time. Wash it by hand.

Care: Wash by hand and do not leave it in water for long. Do not put it in the dishwasher or microwave unless the description says you may. Hand-painted pottery differs slightly in colour and line from piece to piece.
